A new season in Houston means a fresh wave of restaurants. Whether deep in the suburbs of Richmond or located prominently inside the Loop, there’s always something new opening in Clutch City. Here are the most exciting restaurants to look for through the remainder of 2025.
Augustine’s
Riverside Terrace
The forthcoming Hotel King David will soon bring with it a new Creole restaurant. Augustine’s menu, curated by New Orleans chef Dominick Lee, will expand on traditional Creole recipes, showcasing a narrative of migration, culture, and culinary evolution through the blend of European, African, and Indigenous cultures. If the restaurant’s dishes are similar to any of Lee’s past pop-ups, count on fried fish and beignets, pork muffuletta with crispy cracklins; crab bisque; and an okra stew based on his grandmother’s recipe.
Doc’s Texas Jazz Club
Montrose
Most recently home to Acme Oyster House, the former Tower Theatre will return to its roots as a music destination this fall; Doc’s Texas Jazz Club will bring old-school supper club vibes back to Montrose with live entertainment seven nights a week, a variety of dining options, and crafted cocktails. The best part? Those who take the stage at this new venue will add to the location’s iconic history: The nearly century-old building has welcomed performances from legends like Ella Fitzgerald and the Beastie Boys.

Comma Hospitality, the restaurant group responsible for hand roll and Japanese listening bar Kira, as well as omakase spot Neo, is nearly ready to welcome diners into its newest space. Oru will offer an à la carte approach to Japanese dining with its 24-seat hinoki (sushi) counter. Menu highlights include madai, masu, and chutoro nigiri, aged swordfish crudo, slow-cooked Alaskan black cod, and banana and caviar ice cream for dessert. Japanese-inspired cocktails, sake, and wines will also be available.

Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette
rice village
Rice Village, say hello to Culinary Khancept’s Gulf Coast–inspired cuisine. Its third location of Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette will open this fall in the space of the former Gratify Neighborhood Bistro. The restaurant will feature the same brunch, lunch, dinner, and happy hour menus as its River Oaks and Memorial locations. Notable dishes include the black truffle hamachi, deviled eggs, lobster rolls, and linguine Pescatore, a seafood-loaded pasta that’s dripping in garlic butter.
Soliz Casa de Tacos
richmond
More taco options are coming to Richmond this October. Soliz Casa de Tacos is expanding with a second brick-and-mortar location, following the success of its original location at the Fair Food Co. food hall and another in the Stafford area. Diners can choose from tacos like the Darlene (eggs, potatoes, bacon, refried beans, and cheese), the Eric (eggs, potatoes, sautéed onions, cheese, and guacamole), and the Hughie (grilled chicken breast, sautéed onions, bacon, refried beans, and cheese).

Trill Burgers
westheimer, missouri city
Bun B’s reach is expanding once again this fall with his beloved Trill Burgers restaurant on Westheimer and in Missouri City. Menu items feature its signatures, including its OG burger, the triple OG burger, and vegan options. Even kiddos can get in on the action with a Baby G Trill meal. Both locations will also serve the restaurant’s beloved Trill lemonade and have merch for sale.
