LIFE IS TOO SHORT FOR ORDINARY COFFEE EXPERIENCES. An Indeed study found that burnout brought on by the pandemic is increasingly high, so finding fun in purchasing your daily cup of caffeine might as well be worth it. These days — especially in today's WFH environment — everyone has probably mastered their perfect cup of coffee at home (thank God for Keurig and Nespresso machines), so it will take a little more than just a cold brew to get us out of the house.

There are a few criteria that coffee shops must meet. Is there reliable WiFi? What's on the menu? What's the ambiance? Of course, you want to make the most out of your coffee run, so why not be able to capture an eerie photo before heading out the door?

Below, find ten picture-perfect coffee shops in Houston.

Spring Branch

Dolce & Cafe

If a quaint-chic aesthetic is your vibe, you’ll find yourself right at home at Dolce & Cafe. The unassuming coffee shop is photoshoot fresh, nestled in the Marq-E Entertainment Center right off Katy Freeway. Every corner of the intimate coffee shop will force you to pull out your phone – from the kaleidoscope wall art to the millennial favorite small bites such as avocado toast and frothy matcha lattes.

If your friends describe you as vibrant and colorful, the Heights’ newly opened Wild is a must-stop. The lively coffee bar has embellished neon lights along the walls, and if that’s not enough to get you to open your camera, the Delta-8 filled bud bar surely will.

Bluestone Lane

The newly opened Australian-inspired specialty coffee roaster Bluestone Lane in the Heights offers a modern loft feel. The first Houston location boasts two stories, exposed indoor brick, and a sunlit patio. For added flair, you’ll find two beautiful mural walls by Houston artist Shelbi Nicole that will serve as a backdrop to the photoshoot with your friends.

Bluestone Lane, 115 W. 19th St.

Kraftsmen Baking

Have you ever felt like your life is a movie? When I think of Kraftsmen Baking, I could easily liken it to where I go when trying to live my best Sex in the City life. Grabbing a coffee and pastry from the remodeled textile mill-turned-bakery has a rustic feel that makes you want to capture the moment.

Segundo Coffee Lab

Located in the heart of Second Ward is the minimalistic Segundo Coffee Lab. Housed inside the collaborative workspace Ironworks in the East End, the industrial feel is perfect for productivity; if you pay attention to detail, you’ll notice that the coffee shop is crafted by  repurposed shipping containers, ideal for your Instagram feed.

Segundo Coffee Lab, 11 Milby St., #35

Tout Suite

Everyone would love a trip to Paris, but when the funds don’t allow, or your 9-5 is calling, go to Tout Suite — which comes from the French “tout de suite,” meaning immediately. Although the name means right away, you’ll want to stop and get just the right photo. The sweets are aesthetically pleasing, from the floury tiramisu to the strawberry cream puffs. As a bonus, if you savor your latte long enough, you’ll be able to see the bubbly art down to the last drop.

Tout Suite, 2001 Commerce St.

Brass Tacks

We can’t give you a list of the most Instagrammable coffee shops without mentioning Brass Tacks. You won’t need to move anything around to get the right shot either — the coffee shop’s couches and tables will make you look productive — even when you’re secretly just there to grab a drink.

Brass Tacks, 612 Live Oak St.

Upper Kirby

Pondicheri Bake Lab + Shop

Indian flavors have an excellent reputation for being bold and bright, so it's no wonder that Anita Jaisinghani's passion project is reflective of her home country. The Pondicheri Bake Lab + Shop is above the downstairs restaurant, and the presentation is vital. Everything you order, from the butter chicken kolache to the Mahwah cake, will have your social media friend asking, "Where did you get that!?"

Pondicheri Bake Lab + Shop, 2800 Kirby Drive, Suite B240 (restaurant is Suite B132)

Bouchée Patisserie

High tea, anyone? The Post Oak Hotel’s Bouchée Patisserie is one of the city’s hidden treasures — because if you know, you know. Not only are the sweet treats precisely what you need for your feed, but the ambiance at Bouchée will have you ready to dress to the nines to get that perfect, classy shot. You’ll get a picture-perfect meal, and you’ll look great eating it too.

At any of the seven Common Bond locations in Houston, your photos will consist of just the right combination of color and caffeine. The local favorite includes bright macaroons, mastering its presentation whether you dine-in or order to go. Plus, you can bring your pup as a plus one.
