Technology and those who create it want to make your life easier and better. Faster deliveries, more accurate surgeries, and the effortless ability to work remotely. Now, beauty products have gone high-tech. You can virtually try on cosmetics without ever touching them, have your skin analyzed through an AI-generated process, and look into a smart mirror that not only shows your reflection, but also displays traffic reports, the news, and weather.
Houston averages 204 days of sunshine annually, so any technology that tells you how to treat your skin is beneficial. For example, wearable devices, now on the market, can track your exposure to ultraviolet rays. Some products sound an alarm when it’s time to get out of the sun and go inside. Some wearables also recommend customized products for your particular skin type like a certain sunscreen or other types of protection.
Other beauty tech has also joined the fray hoping to become adopted by the mainstream public.
3-D Printed Cosmetics
Are you tired of going makeup shopping and never getting the right shade because of the harsh lighting in the store? Now you can produce exactly what you want at home with your own 3-D printer. In fact, if you have a small, portable printer, you can even take it along on trips.
Make your own blush, eye shadow, or brow powder in one of over 16 million hues. You can also generate a foundation that perfectly matches your skin tone. Although not a beauty product per sé, you can also print face masks to wear as protection against the coronavirus.
Chic Lips
Your local beauty counter may use an AI-generated device to suggest the most suitable lip colors for your skin tone – chosen from more than 2,000 shades. Additionally, both light therapy and vibrating tech can be used to plump your lips. These lip enhancers don’t contain parabens, GMOs, hormones, or phthalates, making them a healthy choice.
Virtual Beauty Consultants
During the pandemic, when stores were closed, cosmetic companies offered customers virtual advisers for customized beauty suggestions and online tutorials. Companies found that when they let their customers learn the latest techniques and styles from the safety of their homes, they became instant fans of the brand.
Robust Smart Mirrors
These looking glasses do almost anything but wash the dishes and fold the laundry. These two-way mirrors with an electronic display behind the front layer of glass can provide daily updates, reminders. Some contain Bluetooth so you can listen to a current playlist; others hook you up to workout videos.
