The Houston Texans opened up their 2017 NFL season at NRG Stadium against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, September 10. Pre-game festivities featured the first responders who served Houston during and after Hurricane Harvey, with a roaring applause once fan-favorite (and fundraising superstar) JJ Watt took the field.
The mood shifted as the Jaguars outscored the home team, forcing four Texans turnovers and recording 10 sacks in the process. Texans quarterback Tom Savage was replaced by rookie DeShaun Watson in the second half, leading to Houston's only touchdown. The game ended with a 29-7 score as the Jaguars beat the Texans.
