The forthcoming construction-themed amusement park, DIG WORLD, is bringing the first Texas playground to Katy Mills Mall. The attraction marks the second-ever installment in the United States.
The park will be open year-round, with no age restrictions, and guests will be able to operate authentic Mustang Cat machinery – an experience that doesn’t go beyond kid’s toys for most.
“At Katy Mills, we are committed to growing, evolving, and supporting what the community needs,” says Katy Mills Director of Marketing and Business Development Lisa Connolly in a press release. “Dig World will surely enhance the family-friendly offerings of Katy Mills, providing a fun place for families to spend time together during their visit to the center.”
Spread across 3.5 acres, the amusement park will feature a playground, gem-mining station, and turf-field with games as well as supplemental educational materials from Texas A&M University Department of Construction Science.
“We want to create memorable experiences for families that last a lifetime as well as educate the next generation about construction and all the possibilities that surround that industry," says co-founder Jacob Robinson in the release.
Year-end projections expect to draw 100,000 guests within Dig World’s first year. The construction-themed fun will also provide opportunities for field trip visits, community events, birthday parties, corporate outings, and any other private events.
Dig World will open on March 17. Tickets start at $24.99. More information here.
