After a whole year of postponements and cancellations due to COVID-19 , wedding expos are making a comeback in the Houston area.
Hyatt Regency Houston and the Rainbow Wedding Network have partnered to host an LGBTQ+ wedding expo in the downtown area. Founded in 2003, the Rainbow Wedding Network has produced over 285 LGBTQ+ Wedding Expos in 37 states, according to their website.
This year's event in the city will feature more than 30 select LGBTQ+ welcoming companies including venues, officiants, photographers, DJs, caterers, jewelers, travel, and more. The expo will also showcase the wedding opportunities available at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Houston.
The upscale hotel underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation, which included upgrades to its 955 guestrooms, as well as other areas, like the main entrances, meeting spaces, and its restaurants.
“As 2020 has come to an end, and with new opportunities in 2021, we are thrilled to usher in a new era for Hyatt Regency Houston as we announce the completion of an extensive renovation project,” said hotel managing director John Schafer in a statement earlier this year. “The hotel was thoughtfully redesigned with today’s modern travelers and executives in mind while incorporating odes to artist influences from throughout the state, and reflecting Houston’s reputation as a world-class destination known for its rich history and modern innovations.
Guests who attend the expo will be able to sample an assortment of food and desserts, watch live music demonstrations, test out photo booths, and takeaway unique ceremony ideas.
