The end of the year doesn't stop Houston from making the headlines. H-Town Hottie Megan Thee Stallion is now an official college grad, completing the requirements for her health administration degree from Texas Southern University and Travis Scott opens up about the melee at Astroworld. Elsewhere, the Harris County Public Health Department discovered two Coronavirus Omicron cases in Houston, and the University of Houston starting guard Jamal Shead goes viral on Twitter.

Two Omicron variant cases were discovered in Harris County. 

 

Recent lab testing found results that confirmed Houston's first two COVID-19 Omicron cases Thursday evening. A news release notes that the cases are a female in her 20s and a male in his 30s.

The Grammy Award-winning artist received her bachelor's degree in health administration and was also awarded the 18th Congressional District of Texas Hero Award by congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

The University of Houston basketball star Jamal Shead goes viral on social media for a good deed. 

 

The Houston Cougars suffered a disappointing loss this weekend to Alabama, and some of the team, passionately expressed their frustration by making a mess of trash before walking off the court, and starting guard Jamal Shead stuck around to clean it up. 

The Supreme Court ruled to keep Texas abortion law in place. 

 

Texas passed the nation's most restrictive abortion law and many organizations have been working to fight back against the legislation, but the abortion ban will remain in place, continuing on an 8-1 decision. 

The Texans take on another loss after the Seattle Seahawks matchup Sunday. 

 

This season has not been working in favor of the hometown football team. The most recent loss was the homecoming game between the Texans and the Seahawks, where the Texans put up a good fight but ended up losing, 13-33.
