The Houston Zoo has announced dates for its annual Halloween celebration, Zoo Boo, which features a spooktacular lineup of interactive adventures.

Here's everything you need to know about this year's event:

What are the dates for Houston's Zoo Boo in 2022?
Zoo Boo happens October 1 to 31 from 9 am to 5 pm, last entry at 4 pm. Zoo Boo After Hours happens every Friday until 8:30 pm, last entry at 7 pm.

How much are tickets for Zoo Boo?
All Zoo Boo activities are included with general admission (starting at $20) and are free for Zoo members. Tickets and reservations must be made online for non-members. For all the details and to make reservations, visit www.houstonzoo.org

Do you get candy at Zoo Boo?
Sorry, little ghouls-it doesn't look like candy will be given at Zoo Boo.

Can you wear costumes to Zoo Boo?
Costumes are strongly encouraged as guests embark on ghostly haunts throughout the zoo. Costumes must be appropriate for “ghouls of all ages.” Adults can join the fun, but costumes must also be family-friendly, and eyes must be visible.

Is Zoo Boo too scary for young children?
Zoo Boo is a family-friendly event and perfect for young children to experience. There will also be a chance to show off those costumes with photo opportunities sprinkled throughout the zoo.

New attractions this year include the glowing lanterns in the Bug House during the day and during Zoo Boo After Hours, spooky-themed lights in African Forest, and an interactive dance floor inside the John P. McGovern Children’s Zoo during Zoo Boo after hours. The after-hours celebration happens every Friday night in October; The zoo’s hours will be extended until 8:30 pm giving guests an opportunity to experience Zoo Boo after sunset.
