Brooke Lewis is an award-winning journalist and freelance contributor for Houstonia Magazine who enjoys writing on a host of topics, including social justice, race, history, and food. She is a native Houstonian who has written for publications such as the Houston Chronicle, Texas Monthly, Texas Highways, and Eater. She is also a co-founder of BIPOC Book Fest, a two-day festival that celebrates literary works by Black and Indigenous writers and authors of color. Previously, she served as the newsletter editor for Hey Houston on City Cast. Brooke was part of the 2018 Pulitzer Finalist team for breaking news coverage of Hurricane Harvey, awarded to the Houston ChronicleShe released her debut novel, The Faith of Autumn Waters, in 2025.
