Emily Hynds is a writer and artist in Houston. Since June of 2020, Emily has covered Houston city council meetings via Emily Takes Notes (ETN), which has grown into a community staple that democratizes local government. In addition to contributing to Houstonia, she has written for Arts & Culture Magazine, The Architect's Newspaper, and One Breath Houston. Emily co-produces the monthly storytelling series Grown-up Storytime while managing communications for various organizations. She also periodically writes and produces her own plays.
