In addition to her work with Houstonia, she contributes to Texas Monthly and Houston Chronicle, where she was a staff writer, editor, and critic for roughly 20 years. Prior to that, her byline appeared in national publications, including Food & Wine, Saveur, Good Housekeeping, and USA Today. Some years back, she also wrote Pink Ladies & Crimson Gents (Clarkson Potter, 2008), a charming and fun book about the human culture behind the horticulture of old garden roses.
