Houstonians are so hungry for their H-E-B and Central Market groceries that they want them delivered! Shipt, a fast-growing grocery delivery service, is hiring shoppers to keep up with demand for the delivery service in the greater HOU area. The company, based in Birmingham, Alabama, launched service in the region in June.

“I love that I can literally shop from Shipt no matter where I am,” said Channing, a local mom and blogger at Moms Without Answers. “Their communication starts while you are ordering. With each item you order you can go in and add notes. I have a few items that I buy on a regular basis that I get in specific flavors or scents...It has worked like a charm.” Shipt Shoppers, who are hired as independent contractors, set their own delivery schedule around their lifestyle.  Shoppers must complete an in-depth review process that includes interviews and background checks. Once hired, they are trained on how to select high-quality produce. Shipt is looking for reliable shoppers to service members in their large coverage area.  This area expands from Deer Park southward to League City and rings the southern, western, and northern sides of Houston and nearby suburbs to Kingwood. Shipt shoppers set their own hours and earn an average of $15 to $20 an hour. To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years of age, have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a thorough background check. Applicants also need to have an insulated cooler bag, an existing knowledge of produce, the ability to lift 25+ pounds, and familiarity with using a smartphone.
