Something about the spring makes us long for days when we could have class outside – but we're also thankful we’re now old enough to enjoy cocktails on our favorite patios around Houston. Of course, that brings to mind what we’ll wear to savor those sips in the sun. Fortunately for us, there are so many places at Uptown Park – within walking distance of each other – that have the answer to most of our spring wishes. Class outside, sadly, will just have to wait until after work.

Spring color has exploded at BB1 Classic. Their new reversible line from Eroke is awash in bold hues and funky patterns. Topping it off with a ring, bracelet or necklace (or all three?) from the eclectic High Gloss and everyone will know you’re there, wherever you are. Of course, the classic looks from Lewis Jewelers are always in style as well.

Let’s celebrate that new outfit with a bite or drink on one of Uptown Park’s patios. A glass of wine and sampling the new menu on The Tasting Room’s patio sounds perfect, or something more indulgent from Songkran Thai Kitchen – maybe with a great new hairstyle to match from Ceron Hair Studio.

When we’re thinking about leisure, we’re thinking about weekends spent on the lake, and cutting out just a little early on Friday to “avoid traffic” (read: spend more time relaxing at the lake).

Bill Walker Clothiers is our go-to for guys’ weekend wear – Vineyard Vines, Tommy Bahama – and a few fancier things if we’re for that upcoming date night. Of course, a quick walk over to M PENNER for a new summer suit will make even the toughest day at the office a little brighter –and a stop at Elizabeth Anthony for a dress to coordinate perfectly with that suit for summer weddings.

The relaxation should really start now. Indulgent treats at Crave Cupcake, including my favorite, mint chocolate. And some for everyone else too – or more for me? Of course, the ultimate would be some time at Serente Spa. Appointment booked.

It’s already time for dinner? It’s a difficult choice between the French cuisine of Étoile Cuisine et Bar, Uptown Sushi, or our favorite quick choice – Café Express. Thanks to their to-go option, we see even more relaxation in my future – with the doors wide open, reading a book on our couch from Longoria Collection.
