Museum of the Coastal Bend

Discover a Shipwreck
Tour 13,000 years of Texas history at the Museum of the Coastal Bend. Examine the tools and other artifacts from the Native Americans, Spanish, and French that once called this corner of the Lone Star State home.

Learn about 17th-century French explorer Robert de La Salle’s ill-fated journey including the shipwreck of La Belle. See many of the recovered artifacts as well as seven of the cannons his crew was forced to abandon.

Annual Historic Homes Tour

Study 19th Century Architecture
The self-guided Old Victoria Driving Tour is another great way to uncover the town’s past. With more than 80 historic homes and sites, the tour includes such gems as the 1892 Courthouse, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and Fossati’s Delicatessen - the oldest deli in Texas.

Curious about the history of these architectural beauties or wonder what’s inside? Tour several of homes at the annual Historic Homes Tour, April 27-28. The tours are led by docents who know all of the good stories! 

Victoria Texas Art Car Parade

Watch a Parade
A parade of art cars, that is!  Victoria’s JAM Fest kicks off April 5 at the Club Westerner. The celebration continues on Saturday, April 6 with the Five Points Museum of Contemporary Art’s Art Car Parade – featuring a diverse mix of imaginative vehicles. After the parade, enjoy more of JAM Fest in De Leon Plaza with shopping, food vendors and live music. 

See a Film
If movies are your thing, visit us April 4-7 and catch a film at the eighth annual Victoria Texas Independent Film Festival. Enjoy a diverse mix of films - all shown in downtown Victoria. You are encouraged to join in conversations with film directors, producers and actors.

Celebrate Bach
Don’t miss the 43rd annual Victoria Bach Festival, June 1-8. This week-long festival celebrates the works of J.S. Bach and other composers spanning the ages. Orchestral, choral, and chamber works are performed by local and nationally acclaimed artists in various venues in and nearby Victoria.
