Continue the forest exploration in W. Goodrich Jones State Forest. W. Goodrich Jones State Forest is comprised of 1,733 wooded acres southwest of Conroe. Clusters of endangered Red Cockaded Woodpeckers find sanctuary in this forest, and the area is a favorite for birders. Kids will especially love the Sweetleaf Nature Trail, picnic tables, horseback riding, fishing, and Geocache adventures that this forest has to offer.
