Enough Flavor, Style and Soul for Two Cities.

Shreveport-Bossier has a little this. A little that. A whole lot of us.

Presented by Louisiana Shreveport Bossier May 15, 2023

Around here we live every day like it’s a festival. It often is.

From mouthwatering cuisine and thrilling experiences to riverfront gaming and entertainment, Shreveport-Bossier has a cultural blend you won't find anywhere else. Around here, we live every day like it’s a festival. It often is.

We’re overflowing with natural beauty and Southern charm.

We’re home to attractions that appeal to people of all ages. The Shreveport Aquarium invites guests to get up close and personal with sharks, seahorses, turtles and eels just to name a few. Guests are able to hand-feed the stingrays and touch the moon jellies, sea stars, anemones and more. Nearby, you can head to Sci-Port Discovery Center where science comes to life. Don’t miss the Space Dome Planetarium offering immersive intergalactic voyages. After that, you can connect with our culture and history at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery. This free museum features a collection of over 4,000 works of art, including paintings, sculptures and decorative arts. Then explore Louisiana's natural beauty at Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park. This 160-acre area features hiking trails, picnic areas and a nature center where visitors can learn about local flora and fauna.

Find days full of spectacle and nights full of indulgence.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you’re in luck. Shreveport-Bossier is known for its delicious mix of cuisines. From Cajun and Creole to soul food and barbecue, there's something for every taste bud.

From stuffed shrimp to king cake, we bring the heat and the sweet.

One of the local favorites is Herby-K's, an institution that has been serving up delicious seafood and burgers since 1936. Make sure to go to Orlandeaux's Café, the oldest continuously operating African American family-owned restaurant in the United States. Their stuffed shrimp is famous, and their gumbo will make you a believer. When you’re ready for brisket that’s been smoking all day, head to Silver Star Smokehouse. The au gratin potatoes are indulgent and not to be missed.

When it comes to showing off our creative side, we’re all smiles.

We’ve got so many reasons to celebrate. And some days we don’t even need one. From the Red River Revel to the Mudbug Madness Festival, there's always something going on. Our family-friendly Mardi Gras makes January and February come alive with parades and parties. Enjoy catching some beads and tasting cake fit for a king. One of the most popular events in Shreveport-Bossier is the Louisiana Film Prize, a short-film competition that draws filmmakers from around the world. The festival features screenings, panel discussions and a grand prize of $50,000. Another must-attend outing is the Highland Jazz & Blues Festival, a free event that takes place every fall in Shreveport's historical Highland neighborhood. The festival features live music, food vendors, and arts and crafts.

When you're here, it feels like a match made in heaven. Well, Louisiana. Close enough.
