A Night of Stars and Celebration:
Miller Outdoor Theatre’s 100th season ends on a high note November 11 with the final Celebrate Miller 100! event and a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration between BELLA GAIA and William Close & The Earth Harp Collective. Plus, November 16 it’s a star-studded Centennial Gala, Les Grandes Dames, honoring Miller’s Managing Director Cissy Segall Davis with special guest Rita Moreno.

Dress in your best Steampunk costume and enjoy two hours of pre-show fun during the final Celebrate Miller 100 event starting at 5:30 p.m. Travel through time with machines, zany performers, photo installations, live mural painting and more all ending in a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration between BELLA GAIA and William Close & The Earth Harp Collective beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Not one, but two Earth harps will frame the stage and the spectacular sounds of the Earth harp combine with the visual story of BELLA GAIA (beautiful earth) blending music, visually-stunning dance with aerial acrobatics—along with NASA satellite imagery to tell a cosmic story of the interconnectedness of our planet.
This dynamic combination is unique on the national stage and is sure to be a highlight of the anniversary season. The show is presented by Hancock Whitney with support from AARP and Reliant Energy, an NRG Company.

And speaking of stars pull up a chair for a conversation with the incomparable Rita Moreno who joins local broadcast legend Ernie Manouse as a special guest at Les Grandes Dames: A Centennial Celebration for Miller Outdoor Theatre on Thursday, November 16, from 6 – 9 p.m. at River Oaks Country Club.

Chaired by June Deadrick, Robin & Danny Klaes and Christine & David Underwood, Jr. the gala event will honor Miller’s Managing Director Cissy Segall Davis and feature special guest, Rita Moreno. Rita Moreno is a true Hollywood and Broadway legend, having been honored and recognized for her acclaimed performances during her more than 80-year career. She has won all four of the most prestigious awards in show business: two Emmys, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony, making her one of only 18 to achieve EGOT status. Her countless credits span more than eight decades, beginning with her Broadway debut at age 13. Moreno has starred on Broadway and London's West End, appeared in more than 40 feature films, and countless television shows, and has performed in numerous regional theaters including her one woman show, Life Without Makeup at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre.

June Deadrick, gala co-Chair remarked “this is an opportunity to honor Cissy Segall Davis’s more than 14 years of dedication to Miller and her more than 50-year career in the arts and entertainment industry. What a fitting curtain call we have planned with these two legendary women together as we celebrate this cultural gem that is Miller Outdoor Theatre, which has provided 100 years of artistically excellent and culturally diverse entertainment.”
Funds raised from the gala will contribute to the current $12.5 capital campaign underway to provide renovations and improvements that will greet future Miller visitors providing the next generation of theatregoers with an incredible, more-modern, and state-of-the art theatre experience. Tickets start at $1,000 and tables at $10,000.
