Global problems require global solutions. Being a student at the British International School of Houston (BIS Houston), I have had the opportunity to be part of those solutions. Learning alongside students from all corners of the globe has allowed me to look at situations differently while appreciating and celebrating diversity. BIS Houston is also part of Nord Anglia Education which has provided even more opportunities for myself and other students to take advantage of within the network and family of schools.

This summer I had the privilege of being selected to attend the Nord Anglia-UNICEF Summit in New York. This event was inspiring as myself and many Nord Anglia students from all over the world gathered together to confront the pressing global challenges that are affecting us all today. We are constantly learning to be a youth with a voice and take action to make change happen and this was a great opportunity to take initiative. I also recently had a chance to work with a team of students at BIS Houston to tackle the issue of sustainable agriculture and ending world hunger, leading us to receive a prestigious Social Impact Grant from the Nord Anglia Education Grant Committee. This allows us to take our community service to another level and address Sustainable Development Goal #2: Zero Hunger.

With their international experiences and support, my teachers have stood by me to bring out the best in my educational experience shaping me into a resilient global citizen changing the world for the better.
