Summer will be here before you know it. It’s a great time for fresh starts and new adventures. The Rice University Precollege Program is the perfect way for your high school student to explore their interests.

Our online program is designed for students ages 13+ who wish to dive deeper into subjects that pique their interest before they get to college. Each course features dynamic video lessons by renowned Rice faculty and access to mentors. Courses are available year-round, and the online format enables students to study anywhere, anytime, at their own pace. Students can take multiple courses and explore a variety of subjects. Upon successfully completing a course's capstone project, participants will earn a Certificate of Completion from Rice University.

What kind of topics can your student explore? Our program offers a wide range of courses to choose from in subjects like STEM, medicine, business, and more. 

If your student dreams of working in medicine, they can get a behind-the-scenes look at the mysteries of DNA in our genome engineering course. And our physiology course reveals how the various organ systems of the body work and how they interact. 

Perhaps your student has an eye for business. Students can explore how fintech is disrupting financial services in our entrepreneurship course. Then, they can get an understanding for how the markets, inflation, and policy changes can affect business in our economics course.

If your student dreams of going into politics, our global affairs course can give them an understanding of governments around the world. Or, they can prepare for a future in the justice system with our law course, which shows students the importance of law in creating a just and equitable society. 

For those who are STEM focused, our aerospace course gives students a peek at space exploration and examines the potential of future trips to the Moon and Mars. Finally, our psychology course takes students on a deep dive in the variety of specialities available in the field.
