Presented by The Woodlands Township August 14, 2024

Ready, get set, run!

The annual Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas happens at 7 a.m. on October 5, 2024, and registration is filling up fast. This 10-mile race, 3.1 Armadillo Run 5K and One 4 Texas Kids' Fun Run through The Woodlands begins at Northshore Park. These races are produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department.

Catering to participants of all ages and fitness levels, this USA Track and Field sanctioned event traverses a course that highlights the incredible beauty of The Woodlands. The event also offers a Wheelchair Division and an Assisted Wheelchair Division for the race.

“Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas has been a staple event in The Woodlands for 17 years,” said Megan Meaux, CPRP, Special Events Manager for The Woodlands Township. “Every detail of the races are planned meticulously to provide the best possible experience for participants.”

Make sure to come by and say hi or pose with a photo with Ace the Armadillo, the race mascot, who can be found at the start line of the One 4 Texas Kids' Fun Run. He’ll be helping lead the kids' stretches so they can run their very best!

Commemorate the special day with awards, too! For both the 5K and 10-mile events, there will be awards for the overall winner male and female, overall masters winner male and female (40-49 years old), overall grand masters winner male and female (50 years and up), and top three male and female finishers in various age groups. Awards will also be given to the top three finishers of the 10-mile Wheelchair Division.

And while running and taking in the surroundings is special in and of itself, the event is best known for its unique Texas flare and post-race party featuring live country music, participant food and beverages, and a festive awards ceremony. This is the perfect way to relax, unwind, and fill your belly with delicious food and beverages after you’ve flexed your fitness muscles.

Not sure you want to run this year? Spectators are welcome to show their support! The start and finish line are great places to cheer on runners. Or, set up a cozy chair at other popular places along the route including The Woodlands Waterway and Town Green Park. You can check out course maps online to make your game plan.
