Item of the Week: The Candle Dish

Never throw out a used-up candle again.

By Tricia Gilbride March 6, 2014

Jonathan Adler makes cheeky, mid-century inspired homewares that range from adorable (golden elephant ring dishes) to naughty (salt and peppers shakers labeled “cocaine” and “heroin”). Last year, he set up shop in Upper Kirby and continues to expand his lifestyle brand with offerings that, at the very least, get points for originality, such as these ping pong paddles complete with embroidered covers and a candle for the uber-trendy spinning classes SoulCycle.

If, by some chance, you’re not looking for home fragrances to associate with human sweat, we recommend the Muse Blanc Ceramic Candle. Once the floral-scented wax is all gone, you'll have a subtly-creepy dish by Adler, who got his start as a potter, featuing his signature blend of sweetness and edge.
