Amir Taghi Fall/Winter Preview
The 18-year-old designer Amir Taghi previewed his Fall/Winter 2014 Collection at the Deborah Colton Gallery Thursday evening. The 11-look collection included dresses, skirts, jackets, and vests with a unified pallete of ivory, burgundy, and subtle hints of brocade. High slits and front draping added drama to minimal silhouettes.
According to Taghi, inspiration for the line derived from his Iranian background and his complex feelings about modern Iran, whose ruling regime he considers oppressive. Models clutched blood red flowers and wore netted veils to represent the silencing of Iran's people.
