For those who eagerly await the arrival of boot season—some call it "fall" or "autumn," but boot season is in fact the proper name—this December has been a dud. Over-the-knee boots might be on-trend somewhere, but for this warm winter booties are our only cold-weather consolation prize, chic while still giving our ankles (and toes!) some much-needed freedom.
