Real talk: at this point, a last-minute trip to spend Christmas in New York is a bad idea, as a viewing of Home Alone will attest (and that was pre-9/11, if you can imagine that movie going any more miserably for Catherine O'Hara).

Still, if hearing Silver Bells on repeat wasn't enough, we've got another reason to make a trip to the Big Apple in 2015.

Fifty years after it first opened on Park Avenue in 1963, the Loews Regency Hotel in midtown Manhattan has completed a $100 million dollar renovation, with Houston-based Rottet Studio creating the new look of the luxury property's lobby and guest rooms.

After closing a year for renovations, the Regency re-opened in January 2014 and since then it has been named to Conde Nast Traveler's list of best hotels in the world and awarded Best Hotel Interior at the Americas Property Awards.

Now that the renovations are fully complete, there's even more stunning design to see. Among the latest are a slate of signature suites created by in-demand design firms including Nate Berkus Associates and Meyer-Davis Studio, Inc.

Rottet Studio designed a pair of adjoining suites on the 16th floor, both inspired by Marilyn Monroe. The Glamorous Suite is pictured as a glamorous Manhattan pied-à-terre for the star during her midcentury residence in the city, full of luxurious neutrals and classic lines. Next door, the Pop Art Suite takes inspiration from Andy Warhol's iconic portrait of Monroe, with extra pops of rich color and gold details for a subtly '70s feel.

If you're ready to book, a night in the Pop Art suite starts at $1,099 and the Glamorous Suite will run you a very glam $1,599. Standard rooms (which again also have the Rottet Studio imprimateur) start at $339.
