Closings

Another One Bites the Dust: Dryden Kreps Closes in CityCentre

Is this the end of independent boutiques in CityCenter?

By Sarah Rufca Nielsen February 10, 2015

In the five years since the west side development offically debuted, CityCentre has celebrated a lot of store and restaurant openings and not that many closings. In fact, the only concept we can remember closing its doors is Flora & Muse.

Alas, you can't win them all. Earlier this month high-end men's—and, to a lesser degree, women's—boutique Dryden Kreps closed its doors for good. The closure comes on the heels of the boutique being named the "buzziest men's boutique" in Houston in the January issue of Houston Modern Luxury

The closure leaves oil purveyors Olive & Vine as the only independent shop among an increasing amount of chains, whether local (Elaine Turner) or global (J.Crew).
