The stunning place settings at Montrose Home & Closet's first community dinner.

Table displays made way for one big, gorgeous tablescape on Thursday as 25 guests enjoyed an intimate family-style dinner at Montrose Home & Closet, Houston’s newest shop-cum-living-room.

A lightly publicized neighborhood event, the boutique brought some of Houston’s most well-known style bloggers together for a night of mingling and feasting. Golden silverware lined the table, along with hand-painted succulents servong as placeholders for each guest to take home. Montrose Home & Closet owners Juley Le and Kim Nguyen are dedicated to creating a relaxed community space, with the small, exclusive event as the first of what they say will be quarterly gatherings, planned for the bungalow's backyard space.

The sit-down dinner was catered by Austin-based Mission Collective, a pop-up catering company. An ancient grains salad with roasted corn, cranberry bean, and queso fresco got tastes buds moving before the main course, sweet potato tamales with pulled pork and salsa topped of the memorable meal. The unexpected star, though, was a lemon curd preserve paired with baguettes to open the meal.

Guests finished the meal with a lemon olive oil cake while listening to a searing vocal performance by Hannah Anderson, who also designed the tablescape. It was a memorable end to the event—for those that didn't stay and shop, at least.

Hannah Anderson finished off the evening with a spirited performance.
