Reese Witherspoon Launches Southern Lifestyle Brand

Watch out, Gwyneth Paltrow! Draper James is heavy on the Nashville charm.

Listen up, ladies: Reese Witherspoon is about to let us walk through her closet.

Following in the footsteps of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop and Blake Lively’s Preserve, Witherspoon has launched her own lifestyle brand and online boutique, Draper James, which derives its name from Witherspoon’s grandparents, Dorothea Draper and William James Witherspoon.

Unlike Paltrow’s and Lively’s lifestyle brands, however, Witherspoon’s Draper James is less about Hamptons elegance and more focused on Nashville charm.

“I created Draper James to honor my past and allow others to embrace the beauty, style and excitement that embodies what is happening in the South today,” Witherspoon said in a press release.

Andrea Hyde, Draper James’ CEO, also recognizes the influence of the South. “Draper James was built on the backdrop of Reese’s Southern past, which is both timely and relevant. Not only is the South having a cultural surge, but it has a rich ecosystem that we tapped into on every level.”

The bright, inviting shop offers customers the opportunity to purchase accessories, home goods and clothes personally curated by one of Hollywood’s greatest movie stars. No, you won’t find Goop’s $2,000 leather handbags or Preserve’s clay oyster platters, but what you will find are goods that are quintessential to every Southern belle, such as hey y’all stationery, oversized peach and magonolia handbags, wide-brimmed floppy hats and white cocktail napkins.

Draper James will feature additional goods from Southern artisans, stylists and creatives in the months to come, followed by a Nashville brick-and-mortar store that opens this fall.
