I was recently in Los Angeles visiting my children and the weather ended up being colder and rainier than I expected. I packed a few light sweaters, but needed something more. While walking down Main Street in Venice Beach, I stopped in at a local thrift shop and came across this incredible tuxedo-like black jacket by Tahari.

What a find! It made me wonder why I didn't already own something like this. So I plunked down my $25 and walked out the door knowing I had a fantastic new addition to my wardrobe. I have been writing lots of articles about traveling my little black dress and little black purse... Well now it's time to travel this black jacket.

Every woman likes to have a "black out" outfit for clubbing, city life, a date or party. For this outfit I took a pair of patterned leggings, added a lace top, lace choker, lace-ear headband and fishnet gloves. The black jacket pulls the entire outfit together. I love how its longer length provides coverage for the leggings.

I recently bought this cute white dress by Alice & Olivia from Saks Fifth Avenue. The black jacket adds dimension to this outfit, complementing the little black bow at the neck. It also provides warmth in those chilly Houston restaurants.

Adding the tuxedo jacket to my jean shorts dressed up the whole outfit enough to go out to dinner. This look is casual city chic with a mix of stripes and fishnet hose.

I bought this pink loosely-layered dress in Colorado. It's sort of boho-ballerina. I accented the jacket with a black hat, pink and black necklaces, pink ballet tights and black booties. How would you wear it?
