From poking through a medicine cabinet to peeking in a closet, it's an accepted part of the human condition: we're nosy. For years, tabloids have shown us what celebrities are packing, but what about our fashionable peers here in Houston?
Lindsey Fridge is one of those, a young professional who juggles work and volunteer commitments (including a spot on the JDRF Houston Gulf Coast Chapter's board of directors) with a challenge she's faced since age 9: living with Type 1 diabetes.
To that end, Fridge's bag is more of an emergency kit than most, containing not only backup skincare products but insulin supplies. She divulged to Houstonia what else she packs in her monogrammed, snakeskin tote from GiGi New York.
Apple iPhone: No explanation required. I actually carry two–one for work, one for personal use.
Rodan and Fields Active Hydration Serum: For dark circles and under-eye hydration.
Jentry Kelley Cosmetics: I love all her makeup and always have several lip glosses and liners on-hand. The Lip Dew is a must-have for when my lips feel dry and in need of hydrating.
Origins Super Spot Remover: I'm prone to breakouts, and this one zaps them in a day.
Mario Badescu Facial Spray: I'm also prone to dry skin, and this gives me a dewy, refreshed look anytime.
Blood glucose meter: I have to check my blood sugar levels several times during the day, and I never leave home without my meter.
Insulin and pump supplies: Insulin is my life support, and I always carry extra supplies in my purse in case my pump needs a refill or accidentally gets pulled out.
Chanel pressed powder: I use this for a touch-up throughout the day, and it doesn't dry out my skin.
Card/coin purse (similar): I'm a dachshund fanatic, and this is the closest I get to bringing my dogs to work.
