The Sabah Roundup

When: Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5; 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
Where: Jawda + Jawda, 1537 W. Alabama
What: Sabahs are chic, unisex leather slippers from an indie brand sold in a few permanent locations (Dallas, New York City, Venice Beach) and in pop-up markets around the country (and the world). The partnership behind the latest Houston event seems almost fated: The brand's name is actually a portmanteau of the inimitable Jawda sisters'—Sarah and Saba—who will host in their Montrose studio. The weekend-long pop-up comes on the heels (pun intended) of a Thursday night kick-off social—featuring spicy Palomas, rosé, and a DJ set by Dayta—from 6–9 p.m., if you're so inclined.

DASH Spring Market

When: Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5; 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday/Saturday and 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday
Where: Silver Street Studios, 2000 Edwards St.
What: The twice-annual design, art, style, and home market returns for its spring iteration to bring all sorts of goods from hand-picked collectors to the masses. Expect quirky gifts, charming antiques, unique jewelry, retro furniture, and a whole lot more—just don't expect to leave empty-handed. $10 admission plus food, music, and a bar; a silent auction all weekend benefits Dwell with Dignity and its efforts to open a Houston chapter.

Thorn & Morn Magickal Market

When: Friday, May 3; 7 p.m.–midnight
Where: Avant Garden, 411 Westheimer
What: This mystical, monthly event is like an after-dark farmers' market—if Wednesday Addams put it together. Each market is carefully curated and features rotating special guests, performers, and artists, plus local vendors selling all manner of witchy wares. It also serves as a social meet-up for lovers of the occult—there's literally "goth yoga"—but any curious creative is welcome.

Forth + Nomad Flagship Grand Opening

When: Saturday, May 4; 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
Where: Forth + Nomad, 731 Yale
What: The local shop for hand-crafted, small-batch goods celebrates its recent move across the street from its former home in Heights Mercantile to a massive flagship store with more than 3,000 products from over 100 brands and a maker bar, dedicated pop-up spaces, rentable podcast studio, and more. The Saturday soirée brings workshop, drinks, live entertainment, workshops, limited edition T-shirts, and a gift bag of goodies for the first 50 customers.

Vintage Swap Meet

When: Saturday, May 4; 11 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Where: Texas Art Asylum, 1719 Live Oak
What: EaDo Vintage hosts a monthly market to buy, sell, and trade "all things old and unusual"—retro clothes, yes, but also curios like early 20th century sink parts, should you be in the market for some—AKA a chance to radically up your cool factor, or at least find a conversation piece for your new apartment. Featured vendors include Vida Antigua, Dearly Departed, Fashion Time Machine, and more. Is it a coincidence that Tyga's (very NSFW) "Swap Meet" was stuck in my head when I wrote this? You decide.

Community Pilates Class

When: Saturday, May 4; 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Where: Levy Park, 3801 Eastside St.
What: Pure Body instructor Alicia Malouff leads a free community mat class in the park, suitable for all levels. Bring your own mat and water, register online, and pray for sunshine and tolerable humidity (lol).

Celebr8ion of Babes

When: Saturday, May 4; 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
Where: 8th Wonder Brewery, 2202 Dallas St.
What: Local maker collective HTX Boss Babes presents a spring market in EaDo to celebrate girl power and more than 80 local, women-owned businesses with some of our favorite lady vendors plus 8th Wonder beer (duh), female DJs, and interactive photobooths for a FOMO-inducing Instagram story. Admission is free; bring your kids and pups and a well-endowed wallet.
