THE TO-DOUX LIST is lifestyle editor Abby Ledoux’s weekly roundup of pop-ups, markets, and whatever else she feels like doing around Houston each Friday–Sunday (generally). To submit an event for consideration, email details to [email protected]
When: Saturday, March 7; 10:30 a.m. buffet, 12 p.m. show.
Where: House of Blues, 1204 Caroline St.
What: This recurring event—part brunch buffet, part drag show, all party—is adopting a queens of country theme to (high)-kick off Rodeo, which means plenty of Dolly and Shania. I mean, can you get more on the nose than "Man, I Feel Like a Woman"? Tickets are $46 each and include a full buffet and the lively, western-themed performance, and HOB is doing a BOGO special to celebrate the season. Just enter offer code RODEO at checkout.
The Inaugural Box Shop
When: Saturday, March 7; 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
Where: Boheme, 307 Fairview St.
What: Magpies & Peacocks—the nation's only nonprofit design house, based in EaDo, that specializes in creating sustainable, up-cycled goods from reclaimed materials—has teamed up with Kimono Zulu to create an exclusive capsule collection to be presented in a series of curated mini markets. The immersive concept called the Box Shop will travel around to pop up at hip locations, beginning here with Boheme, and the collection of luxury sustainable goods will feature reimagined vintage kimonos by local artists and up-cycled obi handbags and accessories.
Free Day of Fitness
When: Sunday, March 8
Where: All Houston Orangetheory locations
What: Sure, we lose an hour to Daylight Savings Time this weekend, but resident capital of ass-kicking Orangetheory says that's no excuse to miss a workout, so don't even think about it. In fact, Houston-area locations of the HIIT-based fitness chain are offering all 6.8 million people in the metro area a free class—members and newcomers alike—and anyone who joins on March 8 will get free merch, including a duffle bag and water bottle. How's that for fitspo?
When: Sunday, Mach 8; 9–10:30 a.m.
Where: The Galleria, Level 1 (near Macy's)
What: Adorable, Kate Hudson-approved matching sets have arrived at The Galleria, and you can celebrate the beloved athleisure brand's Houston debut with a free workout led by Dance House Fitness. Check in at 9, then put your own Fabletics to the test during an hour-long cardio choreo sesh at 9:30 on the Level 1 Adidas Court near Nordstrom. Score some free goodies afterward, and you're fully permitted to engage in much-deserved retail therapy—the entire store will be 25 percent off.

Those that have requested pastes (empanadas) for catering, love the baskets we use to pack them. Well, here is Tomasa; the artisan behind them. Don’t miss her beautiful pieces this Sunday during our #InternationalWomensDay market this Sunday March 8 from 10 AM to 4 PM. #AmazingArtisans #WomenPower #HandMadePieces
When: Sunday, March 8; 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Where: Cuchara, 214 Fairview St.
What: March 8 is International Women's Day, so put your money where your mouth is and support women makers at this carefully curated outdoor market featuring special guest Fletcher's Original Corny Dogs (and their famous funnel cakes featuring Cuchara's fresh exotic Mexican fruit compotes) from Dallas. Showcasing women vendors, the pop-up will feature clothing, shoes, jewelry, candles, ceramics, botanicals, Mexican candy, artisanal ice cream, traditional handicrafts, and more. Oh, and there's also a "tequila and tarot" tent. Sold.
