Race to Register for These Texas Runs

There's still time to participate in a destination race in the Lone Star State.

Now is the best time to participate in a race here in Texas, but with temperatures rising, the cool breezes we’ve been enjoying for the past few weeks are coming to a close. Don’t fret. There's still a little time to participate in one of these Texas races, all of which are still open for registration before the intense heat hits.      

April

Blue Ribbon Run

Brenham, $30   

This run uses proceeds to help end child abuse by helping foster families by supplying them with cribs, emergency clothing, and other resources. The course is a loop at Midland College.    

Young Texans Race Against Cancer

This 10K run winds through the trails of the Trinity Groves district that sits at the the foot of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. 

Texas Wine Half Marathon & 5k Series

Run one of the most challenging distances through some of the most well-known wine vineyards in the state. There's a party with food and wine after the race. Runners and walkers welcome.

Bring your four-legged companion and a friend for a run through Independence Hills Park. Cool down afterward during the pet adoption drive, and you may find a new furry friend to bring home.

This race features a 5K, 10K, and 1K courses, the last of which is wheelchair-friendly. There’s also a hand cycle category for the 10K. Proceeds benefit the Neuro Assistance Foundation, dedicated to assisting spinal cord–injured and disabled people by providing resources such as mobility equipment and home modifications.  

Fit Moms and Moms-to-Be Fun Run

Bring in Mother’s Day with a 13.1 mile run through the Valero Trailhead benefiting Helping Hands Comfort Bags, an organization that gives comfort bags to children fighting chronic illnesses.  

The MS (Multiple Sclerosis Marathon)

Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run

Exercise and margaritas—need we say more? Runners will take off at 8pm on a 5K course, starting at Lady Bird Lake and finishing in front the American Legion Hall on Veterans Drive. Maudie’s Tex-Mex will cater an after-party where runners can enjoy a victory dinner and margaritas.

Enjoy the beautiful trails of Las Colinas while doing something good for veterans through the Fisher HouseWounded Warrior Project, and Team RWB organizations.   

Jalapeño Half

Do you want to try braving the sweltering heat? Join an adventurous group of runners in the Jalapeño Half, a relatively flat course that runs through a new and improved loop. And if you really think you can stand the heat, be sure to join in the Jalapeño Eating Contest after the race.
