One Reason to Visit Sugar Land? A Holographic Snow Globe with Santa Inside

The kids can visit Santa (from the comfort of his MAGI-SPHERE) for free.
Santa has once again come to town, more specifically to the Sugar Land Town Square. A new installation called Santa’s MAGI·SPHERE allows Houstonians to visit Santa—in said magi-sphere—one by one (i.e., socially distanced) by stepping inside a giant wrapped gift. While that's cool enough, it's also entirely free. You just need to make reservations online.
The attraction was created by The Flight School Studio, a Dallas-based school that specializes in mixing reality, technology, and animation. All of those specialties are on display in the MAGI-SPHERE, a holographic snow globe that projects Santa as a three-dimensional presence in real-time, guaranteeing that you can still let Santa know what you want for Christmas.

Visitors enter a giant wrapped gift to see Santa.
The MAGI-SPHERE runs through Christmas Eve. Face Masks are required as well as folks maintaining social distance. Hours include 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday–Thursday, noon to 9 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. More information at santasugarland.com.
