Dress from Em & Lee Boutique

Women from around the world have been following British royal fashion for centuries—it was Queen Victoria, after all, who introduced the white wedding gown that's now expected of every bride. The British monarchy has been center stage for generations, but the late Princess Diana and now Kate Middleton have catapulted the "fashion-forward royal" look into the global spotlight. These ladies make the rest of us want to wear hats, pins, fascinators, gloves and pearls again. They have shown us the epitome of how to mix contemporary with vintage and trendy with classic.

I thought it was about time my LBD paid homage to this look, so I took my dress to Jubilee in the Heights for some accessorizing. Cheerio!

Blouse, jewelry and accessories from Jubilee in the Heights. Tights from Nordstrom. Shoes - INC.

When Kate Middleton emerged onto the world stage she immediatley became a style icon. She always exudes a youthful, modern elegance that also embraces old world classic. Kate single-handedly brought the fascinator into the fashion spotlight and made it fun to wear for women of all ages.

The rings are stretchy, so can be worn over gloves. The feather pin and cameo necklace add retro glamour.
