One of the fun things about the surprising hit musical Hamilton is how it shows facets of life that haven't changed in more than 200 years. When Alexander meets Angelica Schuyler, for example, he slides right in with a line about how her perfume smells like her daddy's got money.
Fast forward to 2016, and women can buy our own perfume, thank you—you know, if we want to—but we still love to smell expensive. And no one knows fancy scents like Jo Malone London, which has announced that the company will open its first freestanding boutique in Texas this June at River Oaks District.
In addition to classic, British-inspired scents like Lime Basil & Mandarin, Mimosa & Cardamom and Nectarine Blossom & Honey, the forthcoming boutique will debut the masculine new Black Cedarwood & Juniper cologne just in time for Father's Day, and will feature the limited-edition collaboration with British artist and wallpaper designer Marthe Armitage available in a quartet of home goods—scented drawer liners, a candle, a soap set and a glass decanter bath oil.
The store will also include a Tasting Bar where customers can customize fragrances or indulge in a hand and arm massage. Because when you're shopping at the District, your hands should always smell like money.
