Kitchen 713 has closed, ending service on Sunday, according to CultureMap.

The notable restaurant from James Haywood and Ross Coleman was known for a menu that boldly reflected Houston's diversity, from shrimp and grits to Ghanian quail, and from fried chicken dinners to dan dan noodles.

According to the report, Haywood and Coleman—recipients of a 2016 James Beard nomination for Best Chef: Southwest—are looking to hit the reset button. There's interest in investigating West African influences, says the report, and pop-ups will be planned.

Kitchen 713 spent about two years at its 4601 Washington Avenue location, after moving from Canal Street.
