Megan Thee Stallion Wins Another Award
This time, a BET Hip-Hop Award. Next up: the Grammys?
We’re still keeping up with our hometown favorite Megan Thee Stallion, and after wrapping up two shows in Houston last month, the self-proclaimed H-Town Hottie is still reaching new heights. Just last night, Megan made a grand appearance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards to bring home another piece of hardware.
Although she hasn’t pocketed a Grammy just yet, we know it can't be far off. Megan has already been nominated for multiple awards—BET’s Best Female Artist and VMA’s Best Power Anthem. She won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Power Anthem for the song "Hot Girl Summer," which features Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign.
Tuesday night, Megan opened the BET Hip-Hop Awards with a powerful performance of her song "Hot Girl Summer," twerking atop the S.S. Hot Girl. Soon after, her Twitter-proclaimed “work-husband” DaBaby joined her onstage to perform "Cash Sh*t."
And now, she has something new to add to her award collection: two BET Hip-Hop Awards, one for "hot ticket performer," and another for best mixtape, in recognition of her most recent project, Fever. After winning her award, she took to Instagram to write a heartfelt message to her fans that read, in part, "I love y’all so much and I promise to keeping getting better."
It's been great for us to watch Megan come into her own this year, following in her late mother’s footsteps on becoming a rapper while staying in school at Texas Southern. She has Houston on her back, and we can’t wait to see what’s up next for the H-Town Hottie.
