Houston Restaurants Offering To-Go Christmas and Hanukkah Meals

The holidays are no doubt the busiest time of the year. From gift and grocery shopping to hosting family, it can all be so exhausting. With the added stress, cooking for a group might sound like a nightmare. If you want to avoid it at all costs, Houston restaurants have you covered, whether you’re celebrating Christmas or Hanukkah. From baked goods and tamales to traditional turkey feasts, we’ve gathered the best to-go options for you.
Artisans
uptown
Artisans’ spread is $350 and can feed about eight to 10 people. It comes with a slow-roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, a green bean casserole, dinner rolls, and a seasonal bûche de Noël (Christmas cake).
Orders must be picked up by 6pm on December 24. Over the phone is preferred.

Badolina Bakery

If you celebrate Hanukkah, make your way to Badolina Bakery for a fluffy sufganiyot. The bakery will have these available for purchase in store by the dozen or half dozen for all eight nights of the holiday.

Backstreet Café

Feast on a whole apricot and mustard-glazed spiral ham for $125 or a roasted turkey breast for $120. For $42, you can accompany the entrée with either a wild mushroom or butternut squash soup by the half gallon. As for sides, the restaurant is offering two options, one for $33 that serves four to six people, and the other priced at $48 that serves up to eight people. Options include corn bread and andouille sausage dressing, loaded cauliflower, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and sweet potato gratin. Backstreet Café is also offering wine-poached pears stuffed with blue cheese and dried fruit. And for dessert, options include chocolate pecan pie, pumpkin pie with meringue topping, pumpkin cheesecake, Backstreet fruitcake, and apple crisp.

Bar Bludorn
Hedwig Village
If you’re in need of a sweet treat for your holiday guests, Bar Bludorn has you covered. The restaurant will be offering a chocolate whiskey bûche de Noël. The dessert can serve about six to 10 guests, and is being sold for $65.

Fourth Ward
Enjoy a classic beef wellington from Bludorn this holiday season. Priced at $250, it features tenderloin layered with wild mushrooms and black truffle, wrapped in phyllo dough with a side of périgourdine. And to make things even easier, the wellington will be oven-ready and comes with cooking instructions.
Preorders can be placed on the restaurant’s website and will be available for pickup on December 23 and 24.
Brenner’s on the Bayou
Rice Military
Bring the steakhouse experience home for the holidays with Brenner’s to-go prime rib dinner, which includes either a mixed green salad or caesar salad to start, a roasted prime rib, and a choice of a side, including green beans, caramelized brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, and a smoked macaroni and cheese. To top it off, a bottle of the Prisoner Cabernet Sauvignon is included. A dinner for two is $135, while a dinner for four is $185.

This Hugo Ortega restaurant is offering a family feast for $315 that can feed up to eight people. For the entrée, you can choose from either a pineapple and habanero whole spiral ham or a roasted turkey breast. Sides include coal-roasted sweet potatoes with condensed milk, jalapeño corn bread, charred brussels sprouts, sweet cranberry and spicy jalapeño relish, and tamal Azteca, a cheesy tortilla casserole. For dessert, choose from pumpkin pie with meringue and cajeta, a vanilla or chocolate tres leches cake, or a pumpkin chocolate tart. Items can also be purchased a la carte.

Dessert Gallery
Upper Kirby, The Woodlands
Dessert Gallery is ready to supply you with sweet treats like snowman macarons, petit fours, cupcakes, Christmas butter cookies, and a seasonal yule log layer cake. For those who celebrate Hanukkah, the bakery will also be selling a Menorah cookie decorating kit for $15, as well as Hanukkah butter cookies priced at $5.95 each.
Ordering is available through the website for pickup or delivery.
Feges BBQ
Greenway Plaza, Spring Branch
Feges BBQ is making your holiday a little less stressful by offering meats that are chilled and vacuum-sealed with reheating instructions. You can get a whole turkey breast ($60); sausage that is mild, hot, or with paprika ($20); a pack of pork ribs ($45); a whole brisket ($160); or two pounds of sliced brisket ($60). At the Spring Branch location only, you can also choose from a half gallon of turkey and sausage gumbo or a dozen brisket tamales, both $35. Feges BBQ is also offering a variety of sides such as pimento mac and cheese, Korean braised greens, a loaded potato mash, and sweet and spicy brussels sprouts. And for dessert, order a rum raisin bread pudding with caramel sauce.

Goode Company

Each Goode Company meal kit option comes with your choice of mesquite smoked turkey breast ($149) or smoked beef tenderloin ($249) and a Brazos Bottom pecan pie, plus sides including potatoes au gratin, creamed spinach, dinner rolls, and horseradish sauce. All can be purchased à la carte. Other items on offer include pork tamales, chocolate cream pie, and eggnog.

Guard and Grace is also offering a dozen of its Troy Guard’s triple chocolate chip cookies for $18.

Enjoy your meal with either a whole pineapple and habanero spiral ham or roasted turkey breast with gravy, plus a variety of sides like sweet potatoes with condensed milk, corn pudding, roasted red bliss papas bravas, tamal Azteca tortilla casserole, and jalapeño cranberry relish. Dessert choices include a pumpkin cheesecake and tres leches cake. Hugo’s is also offering a couple’s feast for $120. Or if you’re just feeding a family of four, create your own feast for $85. You can choose from oven-roasted turkey breast or a honey-glazed ham and three sides. Options include corn-bread stuffing, mac and cheese, mashed sweet potatoes, and a green bean casserole.

The package, which can feed up to 12 people, includes a fully cooked 16-pound whole turkey (for $20 the restaurant will carve it), two quarts of gravy, two nine-inch pans of wild mushroom and chestnut stuffing, one Mile High apple pie, one quart of cranberry pineapple nut relish, and your choice of two additional sides: steamed asparagus with roasted peppers and olive oil, string beans almondine, red skin mashed potatoes, candied local sweet potatoes, and whipped sweet potatoes with pecans. If you’re looking to feed up to 10 people, order the Local Table’s holiday family feast for $220 (from the same folks behind Hungry’s Café). It comes with an oven-roasted turkey with brown gravy, as well as corn-bread stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and a seasonal pie. Local Table also has an $85 option for a family of four. The feast includes your choice of either a honey-glazed ham or oven-roasted turkey breast, and your choice of three sides. Choose from corn-bread stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, mashed sweet potatoes, fire-roasted brussels sprouts, or a green bean casserole.

Rainbow Lodge

Rainbow Lodge is offering a variety of meats, including whole beef tenderloin, whole bison tenderloin, whole North American elk, and Dijon- and herb-rubbed and roasted rack of lamb (all cooked medium rare), as well as whole grilled Texas quail, seared duck breast from Maple Leaf Farms, and a whole roasted duck.
If you’re in the mood for a traditional turkey dinner, Rainbow Lodge is offering a whole roasted turkey for $145 that comes fully cooked and can be picked up either hot or chilled with reheating instructions. To accompany the turkey, tack on a quart of gluten-free turkey gravy for $14, cranberry sauce for $6, and sides for $24. These include French green beans with shallots, buttery mashed potatoes, wild mushroom risotto, and Southern-style corn-bread dressing. Be sure to finish your meal off with your choice of croissant bread pudding, chocolate bourbon pecan pie, or pumpkin praline cheesecake.

State Fare is offering an at-home brunch kit, which can feed four to six people, for $60. The kit comes with six cathead biscuits, a pound of applewood smoked bacon and sausage, a dozen fresh eggs, a quart of white country gravy, two-and-a-half pounds of pancake mix, strawberry jam, whipped butter, and maple syrup.
The kit will be available from December 20 through January 1. Orders must be placed online or over the phone with 24-hour notice.
Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen

Put a Tex-Mex spin on your traditional holiday dinner. Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen is offering pork or chicken tamales by the dozen for $22. If you want to offer your guests more, order some chile con queso, chips and salsa, fajitas, or enchiladas by the dozen.

Chef Hugo Ortega never fails to impress when it comes to holiday offerings. Urbe will be offering a variety of taco kits, tamales, enchiladas, and taquizas. Sides such as Mexican rice, guacamole, and refritos will also be available by the quart. And for dessert, options include chocolate mousse cake, Maker’s Mark bourbon pecan pie, tres leches, pumpkin meringue pie, and flan de queso. Or you can opt for an oven-roasted turkey breast for $115 that can serve up to eight people, or a brisket smoked in-house for 10 people priced at $130. Urbe will also be selling a variety of margaritas and its red sangria.
