A Fond Farewell for Caroline Collective

Saying goodbye to the city's first co-working space after 5 years.

Caroline Collective opened its doors on June 7, 2008 as the city's first co-working space, initially concieved by two Rice Unversity graduate students, Ned Dodington and Matthew Wettergreen. Over the years, the co-working space hosted everything from Lebowski Fests and gingerbread architecture competitions to freelance artists and writers in search of a creative working environment.

Caroline Collective will close for good in September, citing real estate pressures in the fast-growing Museum District area. As its owners look to open another co-working space in the near future, we look back at Caroline's cheerful past in the slideshow below.
