On last Wednesday's episode of America's Got Talent, the show's four-judge panel announced that Juan Carlos—the Montrose Rollerblade Dancer—had made it through to the next round of the competition, which will be broadcast live at legendary Radio City Music Hall over the next few weeks. Juan Carlos is scheduled to perform next Tuesday, August 5, at 7 p.m. And we'll be there.
As the first print media outlet to profile Juan Carlos and the first to break the news that he'd been invited to audition on AGT, Houstonia feels a special pride in our hometown celebrity's national success. So we've decided to send our arts editor, Michael Hardy, to New York to cover the biggest performance of Juan Carlos's life, live on stage at Radio City in front of a sold-out crowd. Michael will hang out with Juan Carlos as he practices his dance routine, grab a seat in the theater for the actual performance, and catch up with him afterwards to get a post-game recap. We'll also post regular updates on Twitter and Facebook throughout the day so Montrose Rollerblader fans back home can share in Juan Carlos's big moment.
Stay posted for more information about our coverage, and tune in next Tuesday to cheer on our local hero!
