In Houston, the last thing any of us want to think about is a never ending summer, complete with hot and muggy weather, even if that seems a reality as we approach the blistering and wet days of August. Alas, Topshop’s free Endless Summer concert series aims to literally be the coolest party in town as it takes over Fitzgerald’s this Saturday.
The iconic British fashion brand, which opened its doors at the Galleria earlier this year, is hosting concerts in five of its eight U.S. locations including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, San Diego and our fair city. Houston is the second stop on the concert series, which kicked off in L.A. last weekend.
The music and fashion industries have been intertwined before and Topshop has embraced the relationship, recently announcing a joint venture with Houston's own stage/life royalty Beyoncé to create an athletic streetwear label. The retailer also chose R&B singer Ciara to be its ambassador for Topshop USA, and Topman’s collection makes references to The Sex Pistols and David Bowie. Topman’s latest project, Open Shoot, offers music enthusiasts the chance to make a music.
The 21+ event brings aptly named R&B/trap artist Lil Texas to the stage to open for L.A producer and DJ Jennifer Lee, otherwise known as Tokimonsta. If you like progressive, electronic music with a good beat, or are looking to finally get into it, you’ll dig the ethereal sounds of Tokimonsta, who released her newest album Desiderium last year.
