At just 25 years old, composer Gioachino Rossini followed his epic Barber of Seville with an adaptation of the classic story of Cinderella, which places the young girl trying to escape out from under the thumb of a dictatorial stepfather in late-18th century Italy.

Whether or not it rains, expect to see at least one jokester take a shot at Gene Kelly’s famous song and dance number at this performance, where the classic 1952 film will screen to live orchestral accompaniment with the Houston Symphony.

The Guardian describes this London­-based dance troupe as “a paradox of muscular impact and weightless flight.” The group’s 10 men—nay, boyz—fuse video and choreography together to create energetic and visual modern dance pieces commissioned by Alexander Whitley and Christopher Wheeldon, two of Britain’s most talked-about young choreographers.
