Did you, like millions of fans, experience a Dementor-induced depression after finishing the seventh and final installment of the beloved Harry Potter series? Good news: author J.K. Rowling doesn't do "retirement" very well.

In case you've been living under a rock or locked away in Filch's basement, Rowling's new spin-off, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, hits movie screens this Friday.

Based on the Hogwart's textbook mentioned in the series, Fantastic Beasts is set in 1926 and follows the author Newt Scamander (played by Oscar, Golden Globe and Tony winner Eddie Redmayne) who makes a pit stop in New York City after completing a global excursion of documenting magical creatures. During his brief stay, events unravel after meeting a No-Maj (American phrase for Muggle—a non-magical person) and cause mayhem for both the wizarding and non-wizarding worlds.

According to Fandango, 44 Houston-area cinemas will be screening the anticipated film. This Thursday night, Dolby Cinema at AMC Theaters will host fans before midnight screenings of the film, where audiences will receive wands and commemorative lanyards at the First Colony, Deerbrook and Willowbrook locations. (No word yet on concession stands selling butterbeers or Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans!)
