On Saturday, April 1, over 160 guests packed the Blaffer Art Museum for its brilliantly hued 2017 gala: "Colorsplash."

Honoring Shirley Rose and chaired by Elin Jackson, Caroline Starry LeBlanc, Tamar Mendolssohn and Marit Babin Stout, the hypercolor party featured passed hors d'oeuvres and a seated dinner by A Fare Extraordinaire, sounds by DJ Sun and a silent auction of past, current and future artists featured at the Blaffer, including Leonardo Drew, Analia Saban and MFA at UH alums Mike Guidry and Darryl Lauster.
