Houston Latino Film Festival

Back for its fourth edition, this annual festival celebrates Latinx and Hispanic film from all across Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and the United States. Both shorts and features are on deck at multiple screening locations, and stories are both local-ish—Texas farmhands making deals with the Cartel—and far-reaching, with Fireflies following a gay Iranian refugee who unexpectedly lands in Veracruz, Mexico.

Bayou City Art Festival

March 29–31 | Memorial Park

Plenty of us want to own art that's not a print available from Target or At Home; few of us can afford the stuff on sale at the dozens of professional galleries in Houston. Enter the biannual Bayou City Art Festival, now in its 48th year, which takes over Memorial Park to give us normies access to works from dozens and dozens of artists working in mediums ranging from photography to sculpture to watercolor and beyond.

Texas Home and Garden Show

As we endure the final days of The Pollening–the quasi-season that, per ABC 13 meteorologist Travis Herzog, lies between Third Winter and Actual Spring—it's time to think of sprucing up the 'ol homestead. Consider this regular show an opportunity to meet with the industry professionals to fulfill your dreams of a new pool, new kitchen, and other home improvement projects to get your place in shape for patio season.

The Lemon Climb Houston

Want a rare opportunity to glimpse Houston from 60 floors up? Those who race to the top of the JPMorgan Chase Tower, the tallest building in Texas, will be allowed to linger in the building's sky lobby (closed to the public since 2016) on their way to raising money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a non-profit working to end childhood cancer. You can also pay $25 for an elevator pass that gives you access to the sky lobby, too, if you're not feeling those 75 flights of stairs.

McDonald’s Houston Children’s Festival

Visits from Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles alongside 16 acres of games, circus, and face paint are why this annual festival always brings the crowds. Proceeds benefit Child Advocates of Harris County.
