It’s that time of year again—Rodeo season is officially on the horizon, and with it comes one of the most anticipated announcements of the spring. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has released its 2026 concert lineup, offering a familiar mix of country mainstays, pop crossovers, and a few genre-spanning headliners that appeal to longtime rodeo-goers and newer audiences alike.

This year’s roster leans heavily into country, underscoring part of the Rodeo’s roots, while sprinkling in nostalgia and crossover appeal. Major acts include Latin superstar J Balvin, Houston’s own Lizzo, pop powerhouse Kelly Clarkson, and Shaboozey, one of the most visible Black artists currently reshaping the country music conversation. Returning favorites like Chris Stapleton and Luke Bryan anchor the lineup, while throwback acts such as Creed and Rascal Flatts tap into early-2000s nostalgia.

At the same time, the schedule is stacked with major country headliners already familiar to Houston audiences, including Tim McGraw, Cody Johnson,  and Koe Wetzel.

The Rodeo has continued to increase the number of woman headliners, a noticeable and welcome shift, though the lineup still leaves room for broader genres and cultural diversity. Of the full 2026 roster, only four artists—J Balvin, Lizzo, Shaboozey, and Pepe Aguilar—are people of color or non-white, a figure that feels misaligned with Houston’s standing as one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the country. While Lizzo’s headlining slot carries significant hometown allure, Black Heritage Day, in particular, feels pared back compared with the Bun B's birthday bash–era lineups of recent years, which featured packed bills with artists like Ludacris, Coco Jones, T.I., and Drake.

Overall, the 2026 schedule is firmly country-forward, with a deep bench of contemporary and legacy artists that will feel familiar to regular attendees—especially across the latter half of the run.
