You've heard of stores offering 60 percent off sales—but what about restaurants? In celebration of its third anniversary this week, Montrose bistro Roost is selling its famous roasted cauliflower dish for $3, which is 60 percent off the normal $9 price.

1972 Fairview St.

The cauliflower that's roasted, fried, coated in a tangy miso dressing, and topped with crunchy pine nuts and wispy bonito flakes was a hit from day one, its popularity threatening to eclipse the restaurant itself.

Chef and owner Kevin Naderi never set out to create a signature dish, telling Houstonia last year that he just wanted to create something interesting out of his latest farmers' market haul. Soon, he was going through 13 cases of the vegetable a week to keep up with demand.

Get to Roost soon, though, because this deal only lasts for the week. As of December 18, the cauliflower will be back to its regular price, but there are plenty of other reasons to visit—starting with the new seasonal menu Naderi just rolled out.
