The quinoa-stuffed avocado is a favorite at lunch or dinner.

Whether you're one to wake up in the morning with a "good vibes only" mentality or a "don't mess with me on Monday" attitude, a visit to Dish Society is a tasty way to kick off the work week. Why? In addition to a creative array of gluten-free and vegetarian options, Mondays at Dish Society come bearing half-price bottles of wine—and that's any wine off the entire list, from a floral Riesling to a full-bodied Cabernet.

In fact, I'd suggest pairing a Riesling with of the most popular items on Dish Society's menu: the citrus quinoa-stuffed avocado. Packed with healthy-fat, two halves of a creamy avocado come topped with a quinoa salad dressed in a bright citrus vinaigrette, served with seasonal greens on the side. It's a favorite among those sharing a post-workout meal or quick power lunch, but functions equally well at dinner as a shareable starter.

Another lunchtime favorite is Dish Society's build-your-own salad bar where guests can choose their base greens (mixed seasonal, spinach, arugula or frisee) and follow up with as many as 20 toppings and a choice of six house-made dressings. While the BYO salad is available only at lunch, the BYO Farmers Plate is a solid choice for both lunch and dinner, even offering a vegetarian substitution as an option. For $11, you can choose a protein and two sides from a list of mashed sweet potatoes, roasted seasonal veggies, truffle mac & cheese, balsamic brussels, the citrus quinoa relish, or a salad—or go with three sides and make it meatless.

Dish Society's social hour spotlights discounted small plates, cocktails, wine and beer and also features options for our vegetarian friends—most notably the Slow Dough pretzels served with smoked gouda queso and the charred cherry tomatoes with fresh mozzarella. A hit on Meatless Monday (and every other weekday), the small plates are only $5 between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Open seven days a week serving lunch, dinner, happy hour and even weekend brunch, Dish Society pleases no matter the time of day. Its two locations in Tanglewood and at La Centerra in Katy combined with a menu that frequently changes with the seasons make Dish Society an ideal choice for indulging in a Meatless Monday treat or two.
