After 47 years at its Greenway Plaza location, the Kolache Shoppe will expand for the first time in the summer of 2018—by then, the business will be just two years away from celebrating its half-century mark. The second location will be in a 1,200 square foot space at Heights Central Station.

“Having a much larger space in the Heights will allow us to expand our offerings in many different and exciting ways,” explains shop co-owner Lucy Hines in a press release.

The new store is set to not only serve as a bakery but also as a coffee shop. Kolache Shoppe is partnered with Boomtown Coffee, which is already providing drip coffee at the Greenway Plaza location.

Now with the expansion, the Kolache Shoppe plans on providing customers with a wider variety of espresso-based drinks and cold brews. Other new features include a drive-through window for customers who like their kolaches and klobasniky (savory kolaches) on the go.

“Kolaches are a treasured Texas tradition that we are honored to help keep alive. Our second location will make that tradition more easily accessible to thousands of Houstonians,” says Kolache Shoppe co-owner Randy Hines.
