Spaghetti Warehouse was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey last year. Nearly a year to the day of Harvey making landfall in Texas, the team behind the popular restaurant announced a return with a new concept.

Warehouse 72, a modernized, communal style of restaurant serving Spaghetti Warehouse fixtures, will open this winter at Marq*E Entertainment Center off of I-10. The 8,650-square-foot restaurant will be set in a brick and wood space with an open kitchen and high ceilings. Don Flores, who was executive chef at Katsuya in Los Angeles, will lead the kitchen at Warehouse 72 with dishes like short ribs Gulf Coast shrimp, porchetta, and pizza Guanchiale.

The restaurant also boasts an 11-seat bar (with more room at an outside patio), plus a front patio for more dining. Moreover, Warehouse 72 promises an interesting model of service "that allows diners to determine the pace of their service." 

It's a big return for the Spaghetti Warehouse brand, which originated in 1972 in Dallas and expanded over the years to dozens of locations across the country. Now it has nine locations, including four in Texas.
